I recently grabbed at several wonderful Single Black Walnut Slabs sized perfectly for a Dining Table, Desk, or Breakfast Table. I can’t stress enough that a width variation, such as the left side of this slab, is not an obstacle for a diners seated at the finished table. There is no interruption in sight lines and there is certainly room enough to position chairs to suit your needs. However, if preferred we can softly sculpt and size this Slab to be rectilinear.
The small crotch on the left end is a lovely natural feature that adds to that beautiful burl and overall visual interest.
Clear epoxy will fill the natural inclusions visible at the ends, resulting in a defect free smooth surface.
