This is one of two wonderfully figured Black Walnut boards from the same log. This particular pair has a very slight hourglass shape yet is very rectilinear and entirely practical. It has a “crotch” feature on the left end, adding to its unique beauty. The minimal lighter sapwood blends well with the wonderful rich color of the heartwood. During finishing we will fill any natural inclusions with epoxy for a defect-free surface.
It certainly will have presence in any space at 2″ thick and can seat 10 comfortably, possibly 12 for larger gatherings.
