At 6″ wider than the other slabs I procured from the same fabulous log, this Single Red Elm is a stunning find. The figuring in the center will have an almost holographic appearance once fully finished. It has relatively straight grain yet visually interesting patterning in the center. The bark inclusion on the left will be filled with epoxy for a defect-free surface, and alternately is an excellent candidate for butterfly inlays.
The color is a light to medium brown with a hint of red, the perfect midway between the deeper walnut and lighter maple.
Once fully finished the wonderful grain will be visually stunning.
WV1399-6 can comfortably accommodate 12 guests, possibly 14 if needed for larger gathering. Virtually any base design we offer would be lovely paired with it.
