The Spacewhip Bench was commissioned by the Allentown Art Museum after being selected from invitational submissions at the 2005 Philadelphia Furniture Show.
The loose conceptual drawing that resulted in winning the commission to the finished pieces was a long and exacting process.
The fluid form of this piece was achieved with about one thousand very thin long sticks that were bundled, wrapped with string, and saturated with polyester resin.
This design won Jeffrey Greene the 2007 NICHE Award.
