Shown in Ebonized Bubinga and Cherry(seat).Commissioned by the Allentown Art Museum after being selected from invitational submissions at the '05 Philadelphia Furniture Show. The fluid form of this piece was achieved with about a thousand very thin long sticks that were bundled, wrapped with string, and saturated with polyester resin. From the loose conceptual drawing that resulted in winning the commission, to the finished piece was a long and exacting process. A powerful piece of sculpture that happens to be a surprisingly comfortable bench. Although it will never be exactly duplicated, Jeffrey Greene welcomes the opportunity to design and build more pieces in this theme. This design won Jeffrey Greene the 2007 NICHE AWARD.
